is meteorologist tom kierein. >> good morning. there's capitol hill. that's a live view from our city camera on this christmas eve morning right now reagan national is right at the freezing mark. and elsewhere it's a little above freezing near the waters and around the bay. we have a lot of cloudiness. this cloud cover has been with us here overnight. a little bit of that moon low on the western sky trying to shine through the high overcast. a few breaks in the clouds over central shenandoah valley. sprinkles of rain southern virginia, the carolinas, kentucky, tennessee. that is coming into some colder air so as it does approach us later today we may have a little bit of a wintry mix later this morning around the areas west and north of washington. right now it's all in the 20s. most of the region from west virginia all of the way to the atlantic shore except right near the waters is generally a little above freezing there. we do have a winter weather advisory and freezing rain advisory for some icing and maybe a little bit of snow in the mountains of western maryland. highlands in west virg
